Seeing as the new update is out, has battery life been fixed? I'm on 4.3.1 as didn't want to upgrade to 4.3.2 due to everyone saying how the battery life was so bad should I upgrade to this one?

Ah, cool. There just hasn't been a response yet in the thread I have going in the .Mac support forum.
I'll give it a shot and hopefully won't have to email you to get reactivated again. ;)

There is no way of knowing but there is no reason to worry about it either.

Hey all!
I am having a hard time avoiding the big bloated, slow monstrosity that is Xcode. I've even tried Xcode, but I disliked the UI and I would like to try an alternative that is simpler and much lighter.
Ideally, I'd prefer the IDE and the compiler to be cross-platform. It's strange coming from GNU/Linux to Mac OS X and it's one-way attitude.
Anyway, thanks in advance!
The compilers on Mac OS X are just GCC and LLVM / Clang. Both of which obviously work on numerous different platforms.
As for the IDE, just check out your favourite Linux IDE. Most will work on Mac OS X as long as you have installed the correct dependencies.

AFP reports (http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5iPv4adjeagiDv59ZBv5Cu7kyF8uw) that China Mobile, the largest mobile phone provider in China, is continuing to work with Apple on bringing the iPhone to the carrier's network."We really are still in talks with Apple...In our negotiations in the past, we insisted on sticking to our conditions," company chairman Wang Jianzhou told reporters on the sidelines of a regional mobile phone conference in Hong Kong.
"We are still very sincere about completing this negotiation."China Mobile has been in discussions with Apple regarding the iPhone for quite some time, but a number of roadblocks (http://www.macrumors.com/2009/02/09/details-of-iphone-negotiations-between-apple-and-china-mobile-emerge/) have prevented the companies from striking a deal and allowed China Unicom to become the first carrier (http://www.macrumors.com/2009/10/30/iphone-launches-today-in-china/) to offer the iPhone there.
Despite the setbacks and reports of slow sales (http://www.macrumors.com/2009/11/03/china-unicom-reports-only-5000-new-iphone-users-since-launch/) for China Unicom, China Mobile apparently remains committed to landing the iPhone, having reiterated (http://www.macrumors.com/iphone/2009/09/14/china-mobile-chairman-confirms-ongoing-iphone-talks/) its interest several times in recent months.

Any heavy usage you will be doing? If it's mostly essay writing the MB or the MBP is good, but the MBAir might be a better fit with light usage.
Since you say the ipad solves portability issues, maybe you should go with the Mac Mini. Since you don't have a monitor, keyboard... iMac?
If you are a procrastinator like I was in college, it's nice to write those 100 page essays sitting on a couch or bed with a laptop though.
Mac mini's seem most useful to people who hook it up to their TVs for movies, gaming, etc.

For 1.1.1 all you need to do is visit JailBreakMe.com on your browser. It'll do the work for you via the Safari Exploit. This will not work on 1.1.2+.

I wonder if it is a licensing issue. I searched for 'pooh ibooks uk' and all I can find are articles from the time it was released, including this:
http://www.licensemag.com/licensemag/Publishing/Winnie-the-Pooh-on-Every-UK-iPad-iBook/ArticleStandard/Article/detail/671824
In that press release they mention '5 other books', but when I search iBooks for 'pooh', there's only one result, and that's the House At Pooh Corner.
Ah well, I guess we'll get the dead-tree edition from Amazon instead.

That's some serious bad luck. Either that, or I have good luck. I bought the same printer 10 days ago from Costco. Worked perfect straight out of the box. It was actually the easiest printer I've ever set up. No cracks or other oddness either.
Maybe where ever you're purchasing yours got a bad batch. Maybe return it and buy from a different store?

Anyone here collect (or originally buy) any of the Mac clones? I still have a PowerComputing Power 100 at my brother's house. I remember the cartoon on the powercc website when they lost their clone license. I should have saved it. :) Anyone have a copy? It was one of their trademark cartoons saying "OH #@!$@#$!" and it was up for a month I think.

(Note: Don't take the hood off a monitor and start poking around inside unless you are conversant with high voltage safety precautions or have a paid up life insurance policy. Those puppies have enough juice to stun a horse in them even when unplugged.)
Very good, sound advice. That being said I have salvaged many a discarded monitor doing little more than a degauss and adjusting the flyback transformer(the dangerous part.) I have heard that there is enough "zap" inside to send a man clear across the room.

Note to keep Cydia from trashing your saved SHSH I suggest changing the location you save to as well at this point.....
 Why would you think that? Cydia is just having trouble retrieving and/or passing on the SHSH, and in any case, there's no way for Cydia to access your hard drive...

My mbp runs fine on mains power but in battery the CPU jumps to nearly 100% and becomes extremely slow
I have tried it in safe boot and it strangely runs fine on battery
Any ideas

Should I have restored to factory first? I don't want useless or corrupted files on the phone. Does it matter?

I love the Pixelskin HD case. I know it's won a few awards as best case for the iPhone 4 but it's all a personal preference. Get what you want. Or do what I do, buy multiple ones and use the one you like the best.

I have a Western Digital. I actually JUST came across a little app somebody made to solve this problem. It's called "Keep Drive Spinning" and seems to do exactly what I want. The link is here:
http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/31158/keep-drive-spinning
I just installed it and applied it to my Western Digital External that kept auto-sleeping. I haven't waiting enough time to see if it actually worked and kept the disk spinning, but if it does what it says it does, then my problem is solved. :)

Ooooh, I have a stalker. Stop being a jackass. The OP asked if there would be any more announcements at MACWORLD. All signs point to NO. Look for an invitation to a special event in the next couple of weeks....count on it.
