Thanks for the suggestion, but no go. Ah, well. I may just reinstall over the weekend.Actually before you do that, try applying the 10.3.7 Combo update (the one that goes from any version of 10.3.x to 10.3.7) - this can help some oddball situations.

Hi,
since i need a new laptop i'm considering to go mac.I just have to figure out the screen size.
So, could anyone here who owns both machines, Macbook Pro and Hp Elitebook, post a picture (side by side comparison) of them?
I would really appreciate that.

tech tv hasnt broadcasted anything for like a year and a half now. which is good, because as soon as steve would announce something dovorak and those guys would be bashing the hell out of it while the mac guy would just sit there looking like he was about to cry, thats why apple has switched to mpeg4 broadcasts.

I just hope they stock family packs, or I'll be leaving empty handed... :(
Same here. But we won't really leave empty handed thanks to the t-shirts. :)

As a hiring manager, all I see is the resumes that our HR department's recruiters finds and forwards to me.

Have you tried applying a screen shield like SGP or Powersupport with water?
It should make it much easier to align and also eliminate all the bubbles or dust, InvisibleShield is applied with water, why shouldn't a normal one work?... Still it's better to ask though.
I have definitely heard of people using water for dry application screen shields. I have never done it myself as I seem to get them on perfect each time  Not sure how though!

You need a 2.5" IDE hard drive enclosure or 2.5" to 3.5" IDE adapter.

Hello all,
Lately my G5 1.8 dual has been freezing on first boot and i'm not sure why.
If i hold the power button to shut it down, then reboot it, it works great until i shut it down again. Then it freezes on first boot again. It's been doing this for awhile and i think it could be software issues, but im not sure,
what do you think?

I'm not real sure what you're talking about, but it piqued my interest so I did a quick search. I couldn't find anything matching your description, but I did find a site purporting to love Macs selling a screen protector for your new 17" iBook. Which looks suspiciously like my 15" Ti PB...

Maybe a very light background color?
What sort of colour would you suggest?
Perhaps words dealing with first aid shouldn't look like they're plinked up with a .22?
The font that is used for the banner is the Red Cross branding font.
I've circled what I don't like
http://cl.ly/4nWg/dofeREDO.jpeg
I find the donate image to be somewhat unappealing, and I have an issue with the "&" symbol.
I recommend just using no image for the donate button (or maybe a paypal image). Also you can just remove the "&" entirely and simply have the two logos.
Thanks for that, i now know what sort of things to look out for.

...is really, really bad...some things like Legend of Zelda (cartoon) actually hold up OK, and even The Wizard was worth it for the cheese factor. But Captain N episodes are actually better when watched on fast-forward. I wish I could get that hour and a half of my life back.
Although (not sure if this is a plus), there is a vast amount of sexual deviant innuendo - lots of bare chests & underpants, leather harnesses, people always getting (h)it in the ass, and whips, whips everywhere. Plus, the dialogue is so full of double entendres, you could dub the lines over a porn reel and let hilarity ensue. I'm honestly surprised no one has done this yet. Yecch.

Me and a buddy are planning to be there around noon. Getting black 16GB wifi models. And it'll give us 5 hours to decided which color cover to get.

Hello-
I just got back from the Genius Bar regarding my 24" LED Cinema Display.
The genius basically just took a quick look, punched in the serial number, and said I need to pay $398.00 for a flat rate repair. I did not oblige to this, and thought I could repair it myself, as I am a A+ certified computer technition.
The problem is, Cinema Displays are not my thing. I have two thoughts on what it could be:
1. The Logic Board inside the Display as suggested by the Genius. When the display is plugged in, it charges my MacBook Pro, and that's all. It does not appear as a USB hub in system profiler, and the iSight camera and speakers are not utilized or even detected by both my MacBook Pro and Mac Mini.
2. The Power Supply...
It might be this, however since the unit charges my MBP i'm not sure about it. Other than the charging, the unit gets otherwise no power.
I'm going to open it up later and inspect for blown capacitors, burnt or damaged areas, ect. I'll post if I find anything.
Thanks!
I did a quick google search and it looks like the ACD logic boards are relatively inexpensive. Just over $100.
For a MBP that flat rate is a great thing, but in your case your probably better buying the part and repairing it yourself. I would do like you said, open it up 1st and inspect for damage. Make sure the board is getting power like it should etc...

No, and it's not cool to call people names, even if the name fits. There's a forum rule (http://guides.macrumors.com/Help:Forum_Rules) about insults (http://guides.macrumors.com/Help:Forum_Rules#Instantly_Bannable_Offenses).
