I'm guessing you are interested in Photoshop skills/tutorials:
www.good-tutorials.com is a large database of tutorials.
It has tutorials on other programs as well, it used to be a Photoshop only tutorial website, but now has expanded to a wide array of great programs that are essential for graphic designers.

no. Your minutes are still used.
No. Unless you put a price on google having all of your call/sms data.
It's a web-based pbx. You can forward calls from your gv number to another number to protect your "private" number. You can block certain callers from calling you based on predefined rules. You can send sms messages through gv over your data plan instead of your texting plan (for example, i don't have a texting plan anymore because i barely use data). These are just a few examples of how gv can work for you.
thanks! This is what i was looking for!

I thought it would be interesting for everyone to post the single (or two) web site they believe is their best work (in design, coding, etc.). That way everyone could see the scope of web design on the board. :)
I don't really have one to post, as I am really limited in my web design knowledge and have only designed (fully) about 5 sites. The past 2 years have found me in a rut and I have no idea where to go from here (or how to accomplish my goals). I am working for two companies on online projects, but nothing involving design. Unfortunately, my skills are limited to HTML, some CSS, and simple graphic work. I am trying to learn Flash and finding it daunting -- I have no idea where to begin. I find I cannot put the designs I have in my head into reality because of my lack of skills. But I am learning!

Who's gonna be there and what time is everyone showing up? I thought about getting there super early (like 6 am) but after reading a few posts, I've decided to just get there around noon or 1 o'clock. Four hours prior to launch time seems to be the most accepted time for showing up to an Apple product launch.

I just got myself a TV (Sony Bravia 40", 60hz. My first real tv ha) and a ps3. I'm playing DA:O on it and the game stutters a bit (often during video sequences when the camera is panning, as well as during spellcasting) and the character models seem to be choppy around the edges when looked at close up.
Is this just the games performance? Is it my tv? Should I have gotten 120hz?
It's not your TV. :o But keep in mind that the demo is not final, so the retail release should perform better -- but how much I couldn't say.
At least you can rent it to try it out?
Even if it's not the smoothest game, if it's as good as the first, it's worth playing.

Does anybody know when and wether at all google maps update 5.0 (and above) will come to iOS? I mean Apple pays to Google for the maps right?
I think what you're missing is that the iPhone's 'Maps' program is not a Google application.
It's an Apple-made program that just uses the map data from Google. The software itself is made by Apple.
So no, I don't think you'll ever see 'Google Maps 5' on the iPhone since it's never had Google's Maps on it before. But you may see the features that you like added to Apple's Maps in the future. But, of course, now we're talking about Apple and we have no idea what their plans are.

In 1961, 50 years ago, President Dwight D. Eisenhower, a Republican and man who was deeply involved in the favorable outcome of WWII warned the Nation of the rise of the "Military-Industrial Complex" in his farewell address.
This is a fantastic article, The Tyranny of Defense, Inc (http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2011/01/the-tyranny-of-defense-inc/8342/), if you would like something to ponder about the history of the U.S.. No, it was not all our fault. The Soviet Union was there egging us on in the beginning. But today the War Machine is alive and well. The cost of the Iraq/Afganistan war is at least $1 Trillion. Some observes believe the cost could reach 2 or 3 trillion dollars. Should we bankrupt ourselves for the benefit of big business? By defeating Iraq and struggling in Afganistan have we increased our security in the big scheme of things as compared to the stress on our economy? I'm doubtful.
Largely overlooked by most commentators was a second theme that Eisenhower had woven into his text. The essence of this theme was simplicity itself: spending on arms and armies is inherently undesirable. Even when seemingly necessary, it constitutes a misappropriation of scarce resources. By diverting social capital from productive to destructive purposes, war and the preparation for war deplete, rather than enhance, a nation’s strength. And while assertions of military necessity might camouflage the costs entailed, they can never negate them altogether.
“Every gun that is made,” Eisenhower told his listeners, “every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.” Any nation that pours its treasure into the purchase of armaments is spending more than mere money. “It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.” To emphasize the point, Eisenhower offered specifics:
The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities … We pay for a single fighter with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people.
When President Obama was first elected he asked his generals what are his options in Afghanistan. He was only given one choice, the surge. According to Bob Woodward, Obama complained, "What's my options? You've only given me one option."
The article's conclusion is that funding the Military-Industrial Complex does not benefit average Americans, in fact hurts them. I'll add that the MIC has the full backing of the Republican Party.
Furthermore, military Keynesianism has proved to be a bust. In contrast to the 1950s, military extravagance is depleting rather than adding to the nation’s wealth. In the Eisenhower era, the United States, a creditor nation, produced at home the essentials defining the American way of life—everything from oil to cars to televisions. Today, we import far more than we export, with ever-increasing debt as one result. Furthermore, in the 1950s, we were mostly at peace; today we are mostly at war—and, as a result, more of the resources provided to the military go abroad and stay there.
the grandchildren of Ozzie and Harriet, coping with 9.8 percent unemployment and contemplating the implications of trillion-dollar deficits, see little benefit from our exorbitant Pentagon outlays. If paying Pashtun drivers to truck fuel from Pakistan into Afghanistan is producing any positive economic side effects, the American worker is not among the beneficiaries.

Yeah, all you need to do is set up a US or Japanese account with a fake address. As long as you can obtain PSN Cards for that region then you're good to go. There are a few guides for this kicking around the interwebs.
I don't own a PSP, but I'm sure you can only sync it to a single PSN account at a time. So everytime you want to load up some games from a different region than you're currently using, you'll have to re-sync it (whatever that entails).

The company I worked for back in the day used Macs - we got tons of these in.
The box and packing all made it into the garbage - who knew? :(
I did manage to save some of the manuals/disks, though...

I've read a bit about pageouts and RAM/OSX performance on MacRumors, but what I haven't been able to determine is how many pageouts are too many?
For the last 3 hours, I have been using a Dual 1.8 with 1.5GB RAM and have had the following pageins/pageouts according to Activity Monitor: 28883/1184.
Is this an indication that I need more RAM? Is there some type of rule or formula to determine how much I need based on the number of these pageouts?

Nope, not one of my clever thread titles. A quote from Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips. (http://content.usatoday.com/communities/onpolitics/post/2011/03/tea-party-leader-calls-boehner-fool/1) Didn't take long for the Tea Party to up the batshite quotient.
The founder of one of the largest Tea Party groups has had enough of the lack of budget cuts sought by House Speaker John Boehner. Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips calls Boehner "a fool," proposing that the movement challenge him in the 2012 elections and saying he's making less sense than Charlie Sheen.
"The Tea Party movement sprang up in 2009 as a reaction to insane government spending," Phillips wrote on his blog. "In the American people spoke, demanding change. Everyone realizes that the level of spending cannot be sustained. John Boehner did not get that message.
"Charlie Sheen is now (making) more sense than John Boehner."..
