I didn't realize this was an Apple ad until the very end. Granted, I wasn't on the edge of my seat paying close attention. I was too worried about my Wildcats losing in the final 4. About halfway through the ad I noticed that the little tablet thingy was actually an iPad, and that got me wondering what the commercial was for. Didn't seem at all like an Apple commercial of late, which is a good thing because I think they were getting pretty cliche.

Maybe they are rare where you live. In the UK and the rest of Europe they are more common that automatics.
Wow, here in New Zealand you never see new manual cars (unless they're some sort of heavy duty utility vehicle or a utility van). Regular road cars are all automatic now...

Looks better than any racing sim on the Wii.
I was looking at the Wii we have at home and thinking the same thing. Apple has been late to the gaming but I wonder how long before appletv 2 or 3 are also a game system.:rolleyes:

Would be nice to see a 24" iMac back in the line up. 27" is just too big for my space.
I may look into a new mini with a 24" monitor, to replace my 2007 24" 2.4 iMac.

From the first article "A diesel Cruze would be about 12 percent more fuel efficient than the ECO, but diesel is about 9 percent more expensive than gasoline, eliminating the majority of the benefit." Also from the article, the ECO costs $19,000. In England, GM charges an extra $2700 for the diesel version. So it looks like you have to drive a lot of miles before you break even.
Am I anti diesel? Hardly, I bought a diesel Dodge Ram back in 1999 and still have it. At the time the initial cost was several thousand more than a gas model. Diesel fuel at that time was significantly less expensive than gasoline and the fuel economy was a lot better. I still have that truck though for my daily commute, I drive my Chevy Lumina as it gets 20 mpg in town (much better than my truck). If fuel prices keep going up, a may commute by bicycle this summer... I may do that anyway for health reasons though not if it gets too hot.

yeah, i bought a griffin reveal, but if switcheasy comes out with a nude, i might have to buy that to.. jesus, i'm spending money like crazy this year.. :eek: i just hope i can return or get my invisibleshield refunded. Zagg's customer service is horrible...

I've been waiting for a refresh to replace my rev. A Aluminum 24" iMac 2.8Ghz (Aug 2007) with a new 27". Going to sell my Aluminum 13.3" MacBook and iMac and get a new one.
But I will probably wait the extra few months for Lion. No point in upgrading just prior to what I expect to be a relatively major OS release. I doubt 10.7 will be the $29 upgrade Snow Leopard was.

If people still drive to the video store to rent movies, then why are Blockbuster et al. going out of business? Everyone I know uses Netflix, not stores, nowadays, unless they don't have a computer, in which case iTunes is not their target market anyway.
Then you can't know that many people, I think you're forgetting there are still people outside of the US, and over here there still is a huge unexplored market for movie rentals. There are no companies that provide services like Netflix, and stores rule the market. If Apple uses the iTunes name for Movie Rentals, it will be a succes in Europe, either way.

Even though Apple is Apple, going up against Amazon, which will have more movie options at the time of launch is going to be tough...
unless... they release some sort of new hardware [full screen ipod, plzkthx] that will take the spotlight.

You just *know* that Apple would not announce this thing until they had the end-to-end user experience worked out to perfection - iPod-iTunes styleee - effectively using hardware and software that works seamlessly and that anyone can pick up and use.
In contrast, Amazon will launch a service that will have a very comprehensive back catalog but will be frustrating to use as after downloading your movie, your options will be:

desktops are slowly but surely dying out. Notebooks are becoming more and more powerful and even moreso portable so what will an iMac offer that MacBooks won't have? Larger screen

Curious if the same marketing company that does the current ip4 commercials does this one; as many have stated opinions of how terrible it is.
This ad has class, the "if you don't have an iPhone", not so much.
I like it a lot more than the "if you don't have an iPhone" ads but it still leaves me a little confused. The only phone/tablet ads I have ever noticed pushing thinness where iPhone ads (maybe I have poor ad retention or they never aired outside of the US). Making things thinner seemed like an Apple fetish that never overly interested me. I'm glad they agree with me a little bit now.

I have to say I'm not excited for a single rumor yet for the this Macworld. iPhone maybe but who has money after Christmas... I mean I sure don't not for a phone anyways...
iTV. Could careless about it unless there is something better than what is already expected.
Only thing I can hope for is that they have some updates on Leopard like doing a blackish gray theme or something.
iLife... nothing really useful I use in there. How about a Microsoft Killer app so I dont have to mess around with Word (not that it doesn't work fine on here).

Has anyone else here used touchscreen computers? They're a pain! Verging on useless. When I had one I thought it was fun for a few minutes, then I went back to keyboard and mouse.
I hope this isn't the start of OSX being replaced by iOS. I like my compatibility and "free" OS (not being limited to a store, being able to do things without voiding the warranty, etc).

That would be nice, but to do this with existing hardware I plan to use a mac mini; logitech z990s and a TV or projector (no HD content in my country). Two things that setup won't do are HDTV and 7.1 sound.
I am about to do the same with a ppc mini that I don't use. I am hoping at least to get the Front Row interface with an integrated tuner to view cable tv without 3rd party hardware and software. The other features I mentioned are a long way away I suppose, but a simple one remote, one interface system is what I think alot of families would benefit from. Easy to use= likely to buy. itunes would not work if purchasing songs was a confusing labrynth of screens.

new iPod that can be used to control & maybe mirror what's shown on the new iTV within range, and it uses BT headphones to avoid the problem of plug & unplug 3.5 jack all the time. All changed from a single dock...

So, the ipod touch 4G is my first iOS device, and I had a bunch of problems putting on the screen protector when I bought the Dermashot. So much in fact, that I ruined the protector. Not seeing any others for sale on the site, I emailed their customer service to inquire when they'd be on sale. They said "soon," but in the meantime they sent me two FREE ones! Love their customer support and the case looks great on mine. :D
