Also, iMovie for iPad won't import/edit AVCHD video as from the HF200. It will only import video if it is stored in the DCIM folder, as videos from a digital still camera do. (Yeah, I was hoping to use my iPad as an ultra-light simple video editor, too.)

Works fine for me. (With latest BT firmware update)
Not aware of any effect on airport - I use airport all the time.
It is regular mouse size. Maybe a tad shorter and taller than the Apple mouse.
There's another thread somewhere...

Your G5, as stated, pretty much maxes out at 10.5.8. You can try running a Linux distro on it, if you really need to, once Leopard's support completely ends. Leopard is still rather usable for most things, though, so keep that G5 around! After all, people still use Tiger after its official support has completely ended
If you absolutely need Snow Leopard, though, I'd advise looking at some older used Intel machines. Just make sure it's at least a Core 2 machine - the Core series is officially being dropped from Lion. (though I'm sure something like XPostFacto will surface for it...)

you might try this topic in the site feedback section
Good idea, thanks. However, I'll wait until there are a few more responses here first, no one seems to think it's a good idea, but no one has said it's a bad idea either...
Expanding the remit might enable discussion of, amongst other things, use of macs in stats and mathematics (Matlab, R, is Mathematica still around?), instrumentation (labview), graphing and visualisation (matlab again), discussions of benchmarking would be relevant too (xbench, geekbench). ...and of course distributed computing would still be highly relevant!
If anyone has an opinion either way, 'fess up! :-)

whats a good SSD drive brand
I've had great luck with my Other World Computing drive. Especially with the most recent firmware update that fixed the issues with freezing upon wake. The company makes their drives themselves, and have terrific support. Here (http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/internal_storage/Mercury_Extreme_SSD_Sandforce)is a link to their website. I too hated the idea of installing the drive. I had it done by a local Apple Reseller who is also a certified repair center. That might be your best bet. I was charged $35 for the install.

I just got my refurbished imac. I wasn't aware that there was something called migration assistant and I'm still not sure exactly how it works. I do have a Macbook Pro and it would be great if I could move everything to my desktop. Since I don't have a firewire cable, i will have to get it tomorrow. Before I try this, though, I wanted to make sure I understand it (and I apologize in advance if this is a really dense question but I am not very technical savvy).
Will the migration assistant basically move everything from my macbook to my desktop? I'm talking software like Adobe CS5 and MS Office along with files?
Any information is appreciated.
Yes, and the easiest way is to Time Machine your Macbook Pro and Migration Assistant using that Time Machine file - > Virtual copy of your MBP (user settings, desktop, files, programs etc) onto your new Imac.

Catalyst is the driver. You can also install Bootcamp off of the OS X DVD, and it will install the driver for you that way.

The G3s are also notorious for their GPUs separating from the logic board.
On the G4s it's a different chip but still basically the same concept. There is a little chip that had developed micro fractures causing the same symptoms.

That doesn't make a lot of sense to me as the display is clearly advertised at 1900x1080. I'm really wondering if my MacBook can only drive 1600x900 or if the adaptor cable is the limiting factor...
Does anyone know what the max resolution of the mini display port on a late 2009/early 2010 macbook is ? How might i find out otherwise ?
Thanks !

The earliest OS you can run on the 1400 series is system 7.6. The ideal OS to run on the 1400 series is System 8.1 -- I believe you can run System 8 on 8MB of RAM but this is like the bare minimum, I know the minimally configured 1400 series came with 8MB of RAM, right?

Is that English, what are you trying to ask?
Is that English grammar? It looks like a comma splice to me. :D
And I usually ask someone to hold my place. They're much happier doing that than standing next to someone with a load in their pants.

I hope they plan this better than the Jay-Z concert. The outfield looked horrible afterwards.
Via Google maps which was taken soon after that concert.
Almost tragic what was done to the field. Why can't they go mess up Citi Field?
