A universal volume? Are you kidding?
Every time I change the station or a new show comes on, the volume always needs to be adjusted. Nothing is ever the same.
As for commercials, they used to always have a higher volume than the tv show for advertising purposes. However, I think congress recently made that alteration illegal.
I never do when changing channels, they're never substantially different, but yeah, ads are bitch.

I recently upgraded from iPhone 3G to iPhone 4. As soon as ATT deactivated my SIM in the old 3G, the wifi stopped working and it would show no networks at all. Now I am not sure if deactivation caused this or something else. I tried reseting network settings but still nothing showed. I have jailbroken and unlocked the 3G phone since then (at least thats what it shows in f0recast). So this Sunday, I restored it from a backup so I can put all my games on it for kids to play. And after I rebooted it voila! the wifi was showing networks again. I was happy that it started working. Well Monday morning, I pick it up to check emails, and damn no wifi network again.
I am confused why it worked after restore and then again just stopped. Any ideas as to what is going on and what I should try?
Thanks

Reception is fine. You need to worry about the water cooling system on your CPUs.
I am on it.. good news is that the G5 Quads compared to the dual 2.5 and dual 2.7's don't have a high rate of LCS leaks, as this was due to the revised liquid cooling system.

You want to use the beta SMP version--it will eventually expire and need an update, but it folds FAST! And it is the native version needed for Intel Macs.
Remove ALL traces of previous folding (search for f@h and fah and folding, I suppose) then gat "SMP Client Installer" here:
http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html
You won't need the terminal--it's a nice pref pane now. But at least during the beta period, be sure that:
a) You run it nearly full-time (deadlines are vey tight)
and b) You don't change your network (like pulling the Ethernet out or even losing yoru WiFi signal accidentally) without Stopping folding first. (This is done via System Preferences now.) My Wi-Fi drops out a few times a day, and all work is lost when it happens :( But Stanford knows about the issue I think.
InCrease may be useful, but I believe it's quirky with SMP still.
If you're already using SMP, then maybe it's just a temporary outage at Stanford.
More info at the teammacosx.com forums -- and we're open to helping any team, not just our own :) All are welcome, and all help the science.

If iTunes doesn't have what you need I would check out Amazon. Or maybe even that Zune pass thing but that is subscription.

Seems funny they would make a typo like that :D
No that was ExtremeMac hahaha.

Whether or not a guarantee was given with the repair, in UK and European law, your friend would have an implicit warranty on any repair. Just send it back and politely ask the repairer to do the job properly. Alternatively ask for the money back and buy a refurbished iPod on Fleabay. I have just bought a 120GB Gen 6, which it was like new and it was only 129.
My older Gen 5.5 80GB now does not work on a lot of up to date docks, so I decided to get an additional iPod. Annoyingly anything above Gen 5.5 does not work on the Denison ICE500 ipod link to the optical fibre MOST audio system in my car. Denison have been saying that they will update the firmware but none of the updates so far have enabled Gen 6's to work or there is a fault in the link.

I have the PS3 version. great game... not too different from previous versions, unfortunately... I'd love to see some better graphics and smoother framerates, but I do have a question. I have the PS3 chatpad.... but how do I talk trash mid-game?? Everyone did this to me last year, and I bought the chatpad in the offseason so I could use it this year. But i don't know how to send messages in-game!

It's a common issue, just do a search here. It happened to me and apple replaced it for free. About your warranty you could still try since it's a common defect.

I'm planning to do the same. I'm hoping *someone* is queuing there that early.
Booked the afternoon off just to get Appletastic. I still don't exactly know why.
I'll be in a Chapelfield Apple Tee and girls' hair, rockin' an iPad 1 in the best red case in the universe.
I've really got to have the self control not to buy a smart cover!

There are lay-ins from either smalldog or radtech that work well. They work to simply cover the keys from contacting the screen (especially keeping your finger oils off of it) which will help to avoid the bright squares some people have on their screens.

Hi,
I am just wondering if others out there are having this issue. I can't see my gpu load or temp in atMonitor. AtMonitor shows my vram load but not the other settings. I was trying to get a sense of how taxed it was under a Maya Render and am now wondering if this is normal or perhaps an issue (minor) with my machine.
I am running a Mac Pro 5,1 quad Core with 8 gigs of ram and a ATI 5770 using 10.6.7.
Thanks

Okay, I have a pair of Klefs that I want to hook up to an iBook. Now, they don't use RCA-connectors; just normal speaker wire. I remember seeing an adaptor for about $50 a while backt which you plug the standard speaker wire into and at the other side it provides a mini interconnect which plugs into the iBook. Anyone know of this? A link would be much appreciated!

My logic is, if a site is designed for Safari, it must be designed for standards, since Safari conforms to web standards so well (although I'm sure there's still room for improvement, but that's what Safari updates are for, right?).

Sysops are commonly used to patrol all the edits to make sure that bad content doesn't creep in - reverting edits back to where they were if an edit was bogus. (They use that "Mark edit as Patrolled" link)
^^^
Good idea.
Whould also be nice if people were consistant about putting a little bit of text in the summary, at least, when doing Major edits.
